RRB Technician Recruitment 2024: The Railway Recruitment Board has announced an Employment notification for the Technician posts. There are about 9144 vacancies available for the RRB Technician Vacancies. Candidates with B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc/Diploma/ITI/SSLC qualifications are eligible to apply for RRB Technician Careers. Selection Process of RRB Technician Recruitment


  • The recruitment process shall comprise of the following stages:
    • ComputerBased Test
    • Document Verification (DV) and
    • Medical Examination (ME)

CBT:

  • Total Duration: 90 min & Total Questions: 100
  • There shall be negative marking @1/3rd for each wrong answer.
  • Normalization of marks will be done for CBT held in multiple shifts.
  • The minimum pass percentage for eligibility: UR & EWS – 40%, OBC(NCL) – 30%, SC – 30%, ST – 25%.
  • These percentages may be relaxed by 2% for PwBD candidates in case of shortage.
  • The marks scored in CBT shall be counted for shortlisting of candidates for further stages of this recruitment process.

Document Verification


  • Shortlisting candidates for DV and Medical Examination shall be done RRB-wise at the rate of 1:1 of the vacancies for that RRB. It will be based on their merit in CBT.
  • Normalisation of marks will be done for CBTs held in multiple shifts. The shortlisted candidates for DV shall be informed through official RR websites as well as via SMS and email (to their registered mobile number and email ID) to download their E-call letters for appearing in DV.
  • If two or more candidates secure the same marks, their merit position shall be determined by age criteria, i.e., an older person shall be given higher seniority.
  • Appointment of selected candidates is subject to their passing the requisite Medical Fitness Test to be conducted by the Railway Administration, final verification of educational and community certificates and verification of antecedents/character of the candidates

RRB Technician Syllabus


CBT – Technician Grade III:
  • Mathematics: Number system, BODMAS; Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion; Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work; Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square Root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.
  • General Intelligence and Reasoning: Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and Decision Making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions, etc.
  • General Science: The syllabus under this shall cover Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of 10th standard level
  • General awareness on current affairs In Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities, Economics, Politics and other subjects of importance.
CBT – Technician Grade I Signal:
  • The syllabus for second-stage CBT as the same as the First Stage CBT and additionally includes the following
  • Basic Science and Engineering: The broad topics that are covered under this shall be Engineering Drawing (Projections, Views, Drawing Instruments, Lines, Geometric figures, Symbolic Representation), Units, Measurements, Mass Weight and Density, Work Power and Energy, Speed and Velocity, Heat and Temperature, Basic Electricity, Levers and Simple Machines, Occupational Safety and Health, Environment Education, IT Literacy etc.

Application Fees:

  • For all candidates: Rs. 500/- (Out of this fee of Rs.500/- an amount of Rs, 400/- shall be refunded duly deducting bank charges as applicable, on appearing in the CBT
  • SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/PwBD/Female/Transgender/Minorities/EBC:  Rs. 250/- This fee will be refunded duly deducting bank charges as applicable, on appearing in the CBT

Modes Of Fee Payment :

  • Only ONLINE fee payments through internet banking, debit/credit cards, or UPI will be accepted.
  • The candidate shall bear all applicable service charges.
  • The fee can be paid by the candidates only through ONLINE.
  • There will be no option to pay fees through any other mode.
