Indian Navy Recruitment 2023 : Indian Navy Recruitment 2023 notification announced for the posts of 10+2 (B.Tech) Cadet Entry & SSC Officer(IT) in various disciplines. Candidates with the qualification of 10th Std, +2 & B.E/B.Tech/BCA/B.Sc /MCA/M.Sc/M.Tech respectively are eligible to apply for the job. About Indian Navy: The Indian Navy is the Naval Branch of the Indian Armed Forces under the supreme commander called President of India. The Merchant Marine is the sister service of the Indian Navy to safeguard the nations. The Maratha emperor Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is the father of the Indian Navy. He started the Maratha Empire in 1674 after that it established the naval force called Indian Navy. The First Squadron of fighting ships called East India Company’s marine arrived on 5 September 1612. The primary objective of the Indian navy is to identify the threat or any other issues in and from the sea. Indian Navy has 67,228 personnel, 137 ships and 235 aircraft at present. It has its own defence operations to protect the nation from enemy forces territory and trade. Objectives of the Indian Navy:-

  • The Indian Navy has to prevent the nation against war or intervention.
  • In case of war, the navy has to make a decision quickly and confidently.
  • Provide security for India’s territorial integrity, citizens from the sea border.
  • The Indian navy is the safeguard of India’s mercantile marine, maritime trade, and maritime security.

Detailed Eligibility :

Educational Qualification :

10+2 (B.Tech) Cadet Entry  : Passed Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 Pattern) or its equivalent examination from any Board with at least 70% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and at least 50% marks in English (either in Class X or Class XII).

Note : Candidates who have appeared for JEE (Main) – 2022 exam (for B.E/ B. Tech) are eligible to apply.

Age Limit : Born between 02 January 2004 and 01 July 2006 (both dates inclusive).

Selection Process of Indian Navy Recruitment 2023 :

  • The selection process includes the Shortlisting of candidates based on JEE (Main)/Personal Interview.
  • IHQ MoD (Navy) reserves the right to fix the cut off for shortlisting of applications for SSB based on JEE (Main) All India Common Rank List (CRL) – 2022.
  • All candidates are required to fill their Rank as per Common Rank List (CRL) in the application.
  • SSB interviews for shortlisted candidates will be scheduled at Bangalore/ Bhopal/ Kolkata/ Visakhapatnam from March 2023 onwards.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be informed about their selection for SSB interview through e-mail and SMS (provided by candidates in their application form).
  • Candidates are advised not to change their e-mail/ mobile number till selection process is over.
  • Merit list would be prepared based on SSB marks.
  • Candidates declared fit in medical examination would be appointed subject to police verification and character verification & availability of vacancies in the entry.
  • Selected Candidates will be inducted as Cadets for the four years B. Tech Course in Applied Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electronics & Communication Engineering as per Naval requirements.
  • On completion of the course, B. Tech Degree will be awarded by the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
  • Distribution of cadets amongst Executive and Technical Branch (Engineering & Electrical) will be as per the extant policy.

Educational Qualification:

SSC Officer ( IT):

  • Educational qualification with minimum 60% overall qualifying marks, in either or a combination of the following:
  • MSc/ BE/ B Tech/ M Tech (Computer Science/ Computer Science & Engineering/ Computer Engineering / Information Technology/ Software Systems/ Cyber Security/ System Administration & Networking/ Computer Systems & Networking/ Data Analytics/ Artificial Intelligence) OR
  • MCA with BCA/BSc (Computer Science/ Information Technology).

Note :  Candidates who have graduated/post graduated or in the final year (regular/integrated) with minimum 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA are also eligible to apply.

For NCC Candidates :  NCC ‘C’ certificate holders will be given relaxation of 5% in cut off marks towards shortlisting for SSB subject to meeting the following criteria:-

  • Having NCC ‘C’ certificate of Naval/Army/Air Wing with minimum ‘B’ Grade.
  • Served for not less than two academic years in the Senior Division, Naval/Army/Air Wing of the NCC.
  • ‘C’ certificate should not be dated prior to 01 Jun 2020.

Selection Process of Indian Navy Recruitment 2023 :

  • The selection process includes Shortlisting of application will be based on normalised marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying degree.
  • Marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying degree will be normalised using formulae mentioned on the website.
  • For candidates who have completed or in final year of BE/B Tech, marks obtained upto fifth semester will be considered for SSB shortlisting.
  • For candidates who have completed MSc/ MCA/ M Tech, marks obtained in all semesters will be considered.
  • For final year students pursuing MSc/ MCA/ M Tech, marks obtained till pre-final year will be considered.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be informed about their selection for SSB interview through e-mail or SMS (provided by candidates in their application form).
  • Merit list would be prepared based on SSB marks.
  • Candidates declared fit in medical examination would be appointed subject to police verification and character verification & availability of vacancies in the entry.

Note :

  • The probation period for SSC (IT) Officers is two years.
  • The probation period will commence from the date of grant of the rank of Sub Lieutenant and will terminate after two years or on completion of initial training (whichever is later).
  • During probation the officers are liable to be discharged in case of unsatisfactory performance at any stage.
  • Only unmarried candidates are eligible for training.
  • Selected candidates will be granted Short Service Commission initially for 10 years extendable by maximum 04 years in 02 terms (02 years + 02 years), subject to service requirement, performance, medical eligibility and willingness of candidates.
