Educational Qualification:
Technical Officers:
- B.E./ B.Tech/ M.Sc. in Electronics or equivalent with minimum 55% marks (equivalent CGPA).
- Desirable:
- PCB design & fabrication
- Circuit design
- Sensor Interface
- Microcontroller Programming
- Overall embedded system design
- Data acquisition system
Technical Officer:
- MBA or equivalent with minimum 55% marks.
- Desirable: Experience in Market analysis, report generation, data analysis, Audio and Visual presentations, Project Management
Age Limit ( As on 28 September 2023 ): 30 Years.
Age Relaxation:
- The upper age limit is relaxable upto 5 years for SC/ST.
- The upper age limit is relaxable upto 3 years for OBC.
- Upper age limit is also relaxable upto 5 years for the regular employees working in CSIR laboratories / Institutes, Government Departments, autonomous bodies and public sector undertakings.
- Age is relaxable for Ex-serviceman as per Govt. of India orders as adopted by CSIR.
- Age relaxation (as per GoI instructions) for Widows, Divorced Women and Women Judicially separated from Husbands.

Selection Process
- Mode of Selection:
- The candidates as recommended by the Screening Committee will be invited for Trade Test.
- Those who qualify for the Trade Test will be invited for a written test.
- The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the performance of the candidates in the competitive written examination.
- A duly constituted Selection Committee will conduct the trade test and written test for the candidates to evaluate their suitability for the post.
- Mode of Examination:
- For these posts, there will be three papers (Paper-I, Paper-II & Paper-III). Paper-II & Paper-III will be evaluated only for those candidates who secure the minimum threshold marks (to be determined by the Selection Committee) in Paper-I.
- The Final merit list will be prepared only on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidates in Paper-II & Paper-III.
- Mode of Examination: OMR Based or Computer Based Objective Type Multiple Choice Examination
- Medium of Questions: The questions will be set both in English and Hindi except the questions on English Language.
- Standard of Exam: Post Graduate Diploma/ Post Graduation/ B.E./ B.Tech Level (based on the advertised qualification of the post).
- Total No. of Questions: 200
- Total Time Allotted: 3 hours
Paper-I (Time Allotted – 1 hour):
- Mental Ability Test – 50 questions -100 (two marks for every correct answer)
- There will be no negative marks in this paper
Paper – II (Time Allotted – 30 minutes):
- General Awareness – 25 questions – 75 (three marks for every correct answer) – One negative mark for every wrong answer
- English Language – 25 questions – 75 (three marks for every correct answer) – One negative mark for every wrong answer
Paper-III (Time Allotted – 90 minutes):
- Concerned Subject – 100 questions – 300 (three marks for every correct answer) – One negative mark for every wrong answer
